The day itself
Climate-controlled trailers with flushing china and lit vanities, placed where the photographs do not find them.
The short version
Weddings are the one job where the restroom is judged. It is also the one where the site is usually somebody's garden, a bluff, a ranch or a venue lawn with no plumbing anywhere near where the guests will be.

A restroom trailer is the answer whenever the budget and the site allow it. You go up steps into a finished interior with flushing china, running-water vanities, lit mirrors and climate control — and guests treat it like a restroom rather than like a porta potty.
Where a trailer will not fit or will not reach, a pair of deluxe flushing units with a hand-wash station between them is the honest second choice. Screened with a simple corral and set away from the sightlines, they do the job.
Three things for a trailer: somewhere level to park it, a power supply within reach, and a route in wide enough to tow it with room to turn at the end. Firm dry turf sometimes works; soft or irrigated lawn does not, and it will mark. Most venues end up putting the trailer on a service road or a lot edge and screening it.
Bluff and canyon sites down the coast — South Laguna, Newport Coast, the Ranch — are where this gets decided early. Send a photo of the approach when you inquire and we will tell you straight away whether a trailer can get there.
Figure one restroom per ninety-five guests for a four-hour reception, then a quarter more again for the bar. A trailer with several stalls per side covers most weddings on its own. Delivery is normally the day before so the setup is done and tested before anyone arrives, and collection is the following working day.
Trailers are the first thing to go for Saturdays between May and October, and Pacific Airshow weekend takes what is left. If you have a date, book it.
