The short version

Job Sites & Construction

Construction is the steady half of this business. The units go in when the fence goes up and they come out when the crew leaves, and in between nobody should have to think about them.

The number you actually need

One unit per ten workers on a forty-hour week is the working ratio, and it comes straight off the OSHA sanitation table. Push past that and you start losing time to the line. Two shifts on the same site do not mean double the units — they mean double the servicing, because the same stalls are getting twice the traffic between visits.

Add a hand-wash station for every three restrooms. On sites handling concrete, adhesives, roofing or anything else people should not be eating lunch with on their hands, that is not optional in practice, whatever the inspector says.

Where units go on a site

Inside the fence, near the gate, on the side away from the neighbors. Close enough that walking there is not a decision, far enough that nobody is working next to it. Keep the door swing clear of the forklift and truck aisles, keep the sink to the side rather than in front of the door, and leave the driver a route he can get within fifty feet of.

Orange County job sites are often tighter than the plan suggests. Downtown Santa Ana and the Long Beach infill lots have no street frontage to spare, Caltrans and Metro staging on the 605 and the 5 puts everything behind K-rail with escorted access, and refinery work in Wilmington needs badging before the truck is at the gate. Tell us which of those you are on and we will plan the delivery around it.

Billing that does not surprise you

Long jobs go on a monthly rate, which is better than four weekly ones and much better than a rate that quietly changes. The quote covers delivery, the units, weekly service and collection. If the crew size jumps and you need another unit, call and we will add it at the same rate rather than re-pricing the whole order.

Questions on this kind of job

How many porta potties does OSHA require on a job site?
The sanitation standard works out to one unit per ten workers on a forty-hour week, which is the ratio we quote against. Below twenty workers it is one; twenty to thirty-nine, two; and so on up the table.
Do you service sites that run two shifts?
Yes, and they need it. Same unit count, double the service frequency — we set that up when you book rather than waiting for a complaint.
Can the drop happen before my crew clocks in for the morning?
That is most of what our morning is. We start at 4am, so a drop ahead of a 6:30 start is routine.
Should a hand-wash station go on the order alongside the restrooms?
One per three restrooms is the working ratio, and on any site where people handle materials it is worth having whatever the count says.
What about sites behind a security gate?
Port terminals, refineries and Caltrans staging all need arrangements made in advance. Give us the gate, the hours and the contact when you book and we will work to them.
What does the billing look like on a months-long job?
Monthly, at a flat rate that includes the weekly service. No separate delivery line, no fuel surcharge.
