The short version
This is the smallest order we take and one of the most common. Somebody is having sixty people over and does not want all sixty of them walking through the house.

One deluxe flushing unit for a backyard party of up to about a hundred people over an afternoon. It flushes, it has a sink on the side, and it looks like something you would be happy to point a guest at. Above a hundred, or if the party runs past dark and there is a bar, add a second.
Street closures are a different shape: more people, longer, and a public footprint. That usually means a small bank of standard units plus an accessible one, with a hand-wash station at the end of the row.
The driveway or the side yard, almost always. It needs a level patch about four feet square and a route our truck can get reasonably close to. Alley-loaded blocks — and there are a lot of those in Los Altos, Sunset Beach and the Balboa peninsula — usually mean the alley is the placement.
If you are in an HOA, check before you book. A good part of south Orange County has architectural rules that say where a unit can sit and for how long, and it is much easier to find that out on a Tuesday than on a Saturday morning.
The sand is not a placement. On Huntington City Beach, Huntington State Beach and Bolsa Chica, units go on the paved lot edge or on matting, with a firm route back to the accessible stalls — and above a certain size you are into permit territory with the city or with State Parks. We will tell you which one you are dealing with when you describe the spot.
